“How To Do all the Things and Stay Sane” with Sera Sahara

Sera is a Type A individual with an extensive performing arts background both on the stage and off traversing the worlds of theater, ballet/modern dance, bellydance, burlesque, aerials, and sideshow. She stage manages, event manages, and produces her own independent shows. She runs two troupes and organizes custom entertainment for Comic Cons around the Southeast. She also works a highly stressful full time job and still has time to cosplay. How does she do it?

In this workshop, Sera will teach you how to budget both your time and money as well as develop your own systems for organizing your work and home life. Wanna do all the things? Sera can show you how.

The alternative arts are often relegated to the hipster ghettos of arts scenes, cut out of the loop on funding, opportunities, and resources. It is time to break out of the box, get clout, get seen and get paid. Join Natalie Brown, director of The Phantom Circus, as she shares her experiences in engaging her local community and drawing larger and wider audiences to tribal bellydance and alternative art. She’s done it twice: once in a small Southern City, and now in the rocketing Denver Metro Area.
Topics covered include: marketing for next to nothing, networking, finding allies and resources, partnering up the chain, strategy in show planning and scheduling for maximum domination, ninja-ing your way into good press coverage, and discovering the pulse of your city and what makes it tick. Consider this a crash-course in muggle infiltration life-hacks.

The “F” Word–Funding” with Natalie Brown

Your art needs money. Your art deserves money. No really. It’s a thing and you can get it. Grants, investors, crowdfunding, sponsorships. We’ll talk about the pros and cons of each, strategies for each one, and what you should be doing with your product, your networking, your details and your story in order to live and work without panic.
