Connect the Dots: Finding Your Fluidity (with Sera Sahara 10:30a-12:30p)

Transitioning through movements is one of the hardest skills a dancer learns. Sera uses her patent-pending “Flowpoint” technique to teach you how to flow through movements and find that elusive fluidity we all seek.

Dancers will learn how to break down, re-assemble, and connect movements to create smooth and unique combinations for choreography and improvisation.

Authentic Improvisation: Face Your Fear (with Magnolia 1:30p-3:30p)

Dance is how we share our truth. The most genuine version of this is improvisation. It can sometimes be difficult to access our authenticity during improvisation. It’s so easy to get stuck in our head always thinking about what move to do next, does the audience like this, or did that look bad? Worse than these thoughts is the fear! We feel a need to shelter ourselves and draw away from performing something unplanned.

The key to improvisation is trust in your body. Your body already has all it needs for you to share your unhindered self. In this workshop, we will move through various exercises to help open up your mind and heart during improvisation to allow your body to take over. Expect to be challenged, expect to be free, and expect to be authentic.
